Mini PDO Threads

  • How Mini PDO Threads Work
    1. Insertion Process Mini PDO threads are inserted into the skin using a fine needle. The needle creates a tiny entry point through which the smooth threads are placed into the skin’s deeper layers. The threads stay in place for several months before dissolving. 2. Collagen Stimulation As the threads dissolve over a period of 6-9 months, they stimulate the body's natural collagen production. This gradual collagen-building process helps to firm and tighten the skin, providing a natural, youthful lift. The effects of the collagen stimulation may last longer, often up to a year or more. 3. Dissolving Over Time PDO threads are fully absorbed by the body as they dissolve. This process also enhances skin texture and reduces fine lines. The threads dissolve completely within about 6 to 9 months, but the results from the collagen boost can persist for longer.
  • What to Expect During the Procedure
    1. Consultation Before the treatment, you'll have a consultation with a trained practitioner who will assess your skin, discuss your goals, and design a customised treatment plan. 2. Procedure The treatment itself typically lasts between 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the number of threads being placed. A topical numbing cream is usually applied beforehand to minimise discomfort. 3. Aftercare After the treatment, you can generally return to your regular activities. It’s important to avoid massaging or applying pressure to the treated areas for a few days to ensure proper placement of the threads. Mild bruising or swelling is common but usually resolves within a few days.
  • Possible Side Effects & Risks
    • Bruising & Swelling: Some swelling, bruising, or redness may occur around the treated area, but these symptoms usually subside within a few days to a week. • Discomfort: While the procedure is generally well-tolerated, there may be mild soreness or tightness in the treated area. • Infection: As with any procedure involving skin punctures, there is a small risk of infection. This can usually be prevented with proper aftercare and by choosing a skilled practitioner. • Uneven Results: In rare cases, the threads may not dissolve evenly or could create minor irregularities, but these usually resolve over time as the skin heals.
  • Ideal Candidates for Mini PDO Threads
Mini PDO threads are suitable for individuals who want subtle skin tightening and lifting without the need for invasive surgery. The ideal candidate has mild to moderate skin laxity, fine lines, or early signs of aging. It's not a replacement for more aggressive treatments like a facelift, but it's a great option for those looking for a less invasive solution with minimal recovery time.

Mini PDO threads are a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment used for skin lifting, tightening, and rejuvenation. These threads are made of Polydioxanone (PDO), a biocompatible material that is commonly used in surgical sutures.

The threads are small, usually around 50mm in length or shorter, making them ideal for precise, localised treatments
on delicate areas of the face and body.
